I take pictures with an idea in mind, one that usually
evolves into a project exploring themes and concepts related to the idea.
Pursuing photographic projects drives my desire to
create images that, together, tell a story.

Under H20 (2006)
Under H20 is an underwater portrait project
that bases its premise on the idea that we become completely
different people under water. The portraits taken attest to
this as my subjects become luminescent, ethereal, comical
or powerful beings under water. More

Sons of Beaches (2007-2008)
Sons of Beaches re-imagines the icon of the Australian
surf-lifesaver beyond its traditional associations with masculinity
and mateship. This project was exhibited as part of the FotoFreo
2008 International Festival of Photography. More

Chaos and Drama (2006-2008)
Chaos and Drama is an odyssey through Greece in
two parts. While travelling solo through Greece, I learned
that travel photography isn't as much about capturing what
is "out there" as much as it was what is "in
here". An exhibition and book of Chaos and Drama
is planned for the latter half of 2008. More

Utopia (2008-2009)
I have spent a long time photographing the West Australian coast and its inhabitants in the changing light of day and varying hues of seasons. Utopia is a story of our coast, presented through a series of images taken with film and digitally. Its narrative interweaves elements of landscape and reportage to show the connections between people and place, time and space, in the Utopia of the West Australian coastline. More
